Which camera should I get ?

I want a simple point and shoot camera but I am not sure which one to get . the olympus seems obviously the one to get because its cheaper and the zoom amazing, but some reviews says it is slow and the battery life is bad, and it is big and bulky . i want a simple and portable camera . if you had either of these cameras can you tell me the pros and cons of the camera . and also which is better to start off a noob photographer .
