Best digital camera for reasonable price… (please read)?
I am looking for a new digital camera. Right now I have a Kodak Z710 with 7.1 mega pixels and 10 X zoom. It is a good camera, but I find that it doesn’t take clear pictures indoors without flash (which I hate). I take a lot of B&W pictures of my kids, and it seems like every indoor picture I take is unclear. I know kids move a lot, but even when they are still I can’t get a decent picture unless I’m outside. Problem #2: I live in Canada. Going outside to take pictures in winter presents two issues – 1, my kids don’t want to be outside in winter, and 2, my camera battery gets sucked dry in cold weather. (Any hints for that, by the way?) So… any suggestions for cameras for an almost amateur but hopeful photographer?
All little P&S cameras have issues with low light.
There is a reason why professionals carry around huge amounts of gear, both in lights and camera wise.
If you want to avoid needing to use flash, you need to invest in a DSLR and FAST lenses. Or at the very least turn on a whole bunch of lights.
Re batteries: When it gets cold, I keep two spare batteries on me, in a pocket so they are warmed by my body, then keep swapping them around.
