What is the best digital camera on the market today? Features, Price, etc.- Please Help?!?

I’ve been looking at purchasing a new digital camera. I currently own a Casio Exilim and was looking at the new version of the Exilim but it seems to have more bad reviews then good reviews but it has awesome battery life and excellent scene selections which i had wanted.

But, before purchasing one, I was just wondering what you all believed to be the best digital camera for 2010 – 2011 year.

I want a small, compact digital camera – anywhere btwn 150 – 250 or possibly 300 dollars with at least 7 megapixels but great if it had more and would love to have at least some scene selections which my current camera has.

Any suggestions??
