LG vs. Samsung – who makes the best 8MP phone?
LG and Samsung are in constant conflict to top each other, it often seems. But who makes the best 8MP phone? Let’s find out!
LG Viewty Smart
The Viewty is one of LG’s most successful phones ever, and now, here’s its successor, the LG Viewty Smart. Before we go any further, let’s clear something up: despite its name, the LG Viewty Smart, isn’t a smartphone. It’s a feature phone, but what a feature phone the LG Viewty Smart is! The camera is superb, and the S-Class user interface is second-to-none, making it a truly beautiful phone to use, as well as having one of the best camera’s in the business.
Samsung Tocco Ultra
But what if you want a phone that has both a touchscreen AND a keypad? Then say hello to the Samsung Tocco Ultra, which combines the touchscreen goodness of the original Tocco, with the sleek looks of the Ultra Edition series, to make a phone that’s shockingly thin, considering it includes both a huge touchscreen, and a full alphanumeric keypad. The Samsung Tocco Ultra also inherits the TouchWiz interface from its predecessor, and that makes for an incredible user experience. The features are better than the Arena, too, because as you might have guessed, it also has an 8 megapixel camera.
Samsung i8910 HD
Both the LG Viewty Smart and the Samsung Tocco Ultra are incredibly pretty phones, but neither of them are smartphones. So, a phone that exceeds the sex appeal of both, and has real smartphone power: the Samsung i8910 HD. In this case, the HD in its name isn’t an accident or a cheapo marketing gimmick; the Samsung i8910 HD is the first phone in history that will record true HD video. So, as well as the sublime photos it produces, you also get pin-sharp video. And with the rest of the phone, things just get even better. The Samsung i8910 HD may have a TouchWiz interface reminiscent of the previous two, but what that UI sit on top of is Symbian. What you’re looking at, in the Samsung i8910 HD is a true smartphone, that will record better video than any other phone in the world, and that looks better than most of them, too. There’s little wonder, then, that the Samsung i8910 HD is already being touted as one of the best phones of 2009.
