SLR camera prices in australia. Melbourne airport duty free?

photography is sort of one of my things. i did it at school (one year with film and this year [2008] with digital) and now i want to get my own camera
i mean my family has a camera but its a cr@ppy point and shoot.

i want to buy a an SLR and this isn’t just like a hobby that i will do for a week. i put a lot of effort into photography, i used to stay after school till 5 o’clock, lunchtimes etc and my photography teacher took me and about 7 others to Healsville sanctuary to take photos with THE Steve Parish!

are there any duty free shops in Melbourne, Australia airport or Christchurch, New Zealand airport that sell them?
because i’m going to christchurch tomorrow…

Yeah I’m pretty sure there are duty-free shops at every Australian capital city airport. Most definitely Melbourne.
The prices though I wouldn’t really know.
