Is a Nikon Coolpix S220 suitable for taking photos of objects for my eBay and Etsy shops?
I had a gift certificate for Office Max and bought this camera on sale. I can’t pay any more than this and can’t buy elsewhere because of the certificate. There are digital cameras with higher zooms and pixels, but I just want a basic but good camera that takes clear photos. I’m going to crop them and upload them to my online shops. I’m mostly going to photograph smaller objects like ceramic dishes and collectibles. Will this camera meet my needs? I’m never sure about these technical things. Thanks for any feedback!
Sure, don’t worry about it. Just make sure you do nice lighting and arrange and crop your products to show them to the best advantage. Make sure the color, brightness/contrast levels are vivid enough to make your product stand out – dull photos won’t help sell you stuff. Be sure to look at other etsy sellers shops to see how they photograph their products for ideas. I have a shop online and just take simple photos.
