I read where the judge in the Arizona immigration case denied a motion to allow cameras in the courtroom.?
Please clarify & explain why a motion has to be filed to allow cameras in a courtroom? Does this motion have to be filed for all courtrooms & why can’t people simply take cameras in a courtroom without having to file a court document granting them permission to do so?
The judge gets to decide what goes on in their courtroom. If they think that having people broadcasting the proceedings will disrupt the trial then they get to keep the cameras out. It is disruptive to broadcast the proceedings to most trials, so you better have a pretty good reason why it should be allowed.
