How/Why was Bush and pals so successful in attacking Kerry’s military record back in Vietnam when Bush didn’t
even serve there himself? I mean, at least he went…Bush didn’t even go to Nam and most of his records during that time went missing. Kerry was rich enough and could have gotten a college deferrment or get some non-deployable assignment in order to get out of going to Nam, but he didn’t. People dissed his purple hearts, saying he didn’t deserve them (not injured enough, I guess), they dissed the fact he brought a camera (who cares? My boyfriend took his dig. camera to Iraq). Why was this tactic so sucessful? I mean seriously, a draft dodger being made to look more patriotic/courageous than a Vet?
Ok…not a “draft dodger” per se…but a wuss nevertheless. Plus, many people agree that stuff that went on in Vietnam was wrong…he went, he saw, he has an opinion and he spoke it…nothing wrong with that!
its all about spin, the cons were able to make him look bad by having so many ads out there trashing him that people didnt bother to research anything themselves. the “swift boat vets for truth” as they called themselves have been linked to republican campaign organizers, and most of them didnt even know kerry personally, but once its out there on TV, no one will question it, because TV never lies…the other thing is that once you put an ad out, even if you lie on purpose, the retraction or correction usually doesnt get as much hype but you have planted a seed in peoples minds…
