Which Camera if not the S3 IS?
I just got the Canon Powershot S3 IS, the rating were great, everyone was happy with it except for me. It’s much too complicated for me. I want a good camera that takes sharp crisp pictures even on auto. There are too many complicated functions on this one, and if you take a picture with wrong settings, it’s just horrible.
I’d like to know, is anyone experienced with a good 6 or 7 megapixel Canon camera? I prefer Canon, they’re known to be the best.
I’m just sick and tired of looking for the right camera, please, please only answer if you know what to answer.

I’ve used the a620 a lot and it’s a nice basic camera. It mostly takes sharp pictures as long as I don’t try anything unrealistic like low-light shots (all point & shoot cameras stink with low-light). It’s one of the best compacts at taking close-ups.
The a600 series goes from the 610 (6mp) through the 640 (10mp). Unless you plan on making big pictures, you’ll actually get better quality/less noise in the image by buying an a610 or a620. That;’s not to say that the a640 is bad, just that when you go big on MP, you lose some quality. This is true for all cameras when comparing in the same series.
