How do I fix my Canon SD780 Camera from getting a “Lens error, restart camera” message?

Please help!! I have a canon powershot sd780 camera which I purchased 3 months ago and out of nowhere I started getting a message saying “lens error, restart camera” whenever I try to turn it on. Even when I push the play button simply to view pictures on the screen without having the lens come out I get the same error. I have not dropped the camera or anything. Can somebody help me please?

this has happened to me beforee !
but i think i forget how i fixed it i was just playing around with it like try turning it off taking out the battery and just leave it alone for a bit then just turn it back on later it might fix
