
MOD Files on Mac OS, How to Upload/Put and Play JVC, Panasonic, Canon Camcorder MOD Files on Mac
Similar to TOD, MOD is a kind of recording format being used in digital tapeless camcorder like JVC, Panasonic, Canon. MOD video format is comparable to XDCAM EX, HDV and AVCHD.
MOD is used exclusively for standard definition video files, while TOD is used for high definition files. Both MOD and TOD are file-based formats that are stored on a random-access media. Directory structure and naming convention are identical except for extensions of media files. Standard definition video is stored in MPEG program stream container files with MOD extension; in most other systems these files have extension MPG or MPEG.

2. Turn on your camera and select the mode of camcorder like PC mode. iMovie on Mac will open automatically the Import Window.
3. You can review your video or select “Import All”and select your JVC, Panasonic, or Canon camcorder on the computer screen and click “OK.”
4. All camcorder MOD videos will have the file extension “MOD” Once the backup is complete, then close the program.
