Digital SLR camera’s?
I’ve gone to those consumer report websites, but I figured I could get more input here.
What is a good camera to get for action shots. I need something that can shoot sequence shots really well and wont put me in the whole money wise. I have $500 to spend on a good camera.
If it helps most of my shots are of skateboarding and surfing.
I just got a Pentax K110D 6.1 megapix with a 18-55 mm lens for a little more than $400 on Amazon. I took it to my nephew’s baseball game and got great continuous frame photos. Very clear. I also used continuous frame/action at night to get photos of the fireworks on the 4th of July. They came out wonderfully. There are many different settings to chose from so I think you could get good action shots. I will say that you’ll have to buy a memory card to go with it, but you can get a 2GB card for less than $30. Also, even though it’s a digital camera, you can’t use the LCD screen as a view finder. You have to look through the eye piece to set up your shot, which is actually better when you’re in the bright sunlight at the beach anyway. You can view the shot on the screen afterwards. This helps save the battery life though, which is a very good thing. The camera comes with software and the cords for transferring photos to your computer. I highly recommend the camera! (BTW, the 6.1 MP should be plenty for photos unless you’re going to blow them up to lifesize.)
