Digital Camera with 8 megapixels; what is largest recommended print? 16×20?

I’m hoping someone may have some feedback on the following:
I recently purchased a point and click that has 8 megapixels.
Part of the online advertising for the product says it can print up to 16×20 and that’s one of the major reasons I purchased it. When I got it home, though, and read the manual is only mentions an 8 x 10 size for 300 dpi. Does anyone happen to know the largest print one can print at 300 dpi with an 8 megapixel camera? Pooky, great answer! However, I would suggest that those are pictures taken in perfect, “best case” scenarios.

Personally, I would probably double those specifications. I have found that using an APS-C sensor with excellent glass and perfect technique I am only comfortable going to 11×14″ with 8mp.
