I want small camera with fast shutter speed & I should be able to take many pictures at a time?
I am looking for small camera that is easy to carry in a purse. I want a camera with fast shutter speed and I should be able to take many pictures at a time. I want to take pictures of moving children fast. Any suggestions, appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Most cameras will have shutter speeds fast enough for pictures of moving children, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
You might look for a camera with shutter-priority mode. That means you can set the shutter speed and let the camera choose other settings. If you can’t set the shutter speed, then the camera might make a slower choice. However, even a camera without shutter-priority mode might have a scene mode for action or even “Kids and Pets”.
But, if you mean the time between when you press the button and the camera takes the picture– that’s not shutter speed. Some of that delay is the time it takes to focus. Even if you manually focus, however, some older-or-cheaper digital cameras have a loooooong lag time.
Taking “many pictures at a time” probably means you want a camera with a continuous or burst mode. Digital cameras differ in “how fast” and “how many” pictures they’ll take in one burst.
I think the Canon SD700 IS is awfully tempting. Small, focuses fast, has a “Kids and Pets” scene mode, has image stabilization and can take 2 frames per second ’til you fill the memory card. But, it’s not the cheapest.
I’d say check the reviews at Digital Photography Review. Pay special attention information on timing (lag time, etc) and burst/continuous mode.
