Tips For Preparing Live Music And Concert Photography

To enjoy any photography it is important to get all the right equipments first and also to work in a manner which would help you to work in a closer way, ultimately which would help you just not only having fun, but would also help to enhance and improve your photography. Let us analyze few tips which would help us to prepare the music and concert photography:

Equipments

It is very important to have right equipments depending on the nature of photography. For instance, If you are using digital SRL then do not worry picking for anything from outside for example canon digital SLR which offers the huge range of lenses which are practically meant for every kind of photography.

Manual mode

There is a lot which is supposed and meant for shooting in shutter or aperture modes. For the live music one can try to shoot in aperture priority mode with the aperture open as much as it is possible therefore letting the shutter do whatsoever.  If the lights are not good, then it is recommended to open the aperture and also to adjust the shutter speed accordingly. Therefore, it is suggested to shoot in the manual mode.

Choose the subject

Live music events have unstable lighting. Thus it is not possible for even a smaller algorithm in the camera to decide the correct lighting as eventually they are programmed for the thin series of photography. An intense light behind the performers might be exactly what you would be looking for, but if the camera is place to assess metering, than it would determine that this is over exposing therefore it would display it as it is in the display. If you shoot anything other than manual mode it would simply take the photos as such and leave you behind you with an under exposed image, relatively to what you have been looking for. Also it is suggested to shot only in manual mode so that the images would be under exposed due to the dark atmosphere of a live performance.

Auto focus

As the singers move fast, so if you might use another mode, this would leave you to loosing the basic point of interest. So use the auto focus mode. The only thing to remember here is that normally there is not much amount of light, so the option of auto focus would not work at all. Thus make it a point that you use wider aperture to shoot.
