What should I look for in a camera?

I am looking to buy a new camera and I was wondering what features are good or worth looking at. Right now I really like the Panasonic Lumix DCM-ZS7 with the new GPS feature. I don’t want anything much bigger than that and I take photos regularly.

most importantly, the megapixels, or quality of the photos. you’ll also want to make sure it has a good lense for stabilization. memory is pretty important too, card readers are ideal.
