The New Handset From Sony Ericsson-The Vivaz

The ever popular Sony Ericsson mobile phone portfolio has been bolstered by the addition of the Vivaz, a gorgeous looking handset which also looks the real deal when it comes to features and specification.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz measures in at 107mm x 52 x 12.5 mm which are fairly standard dimensions for a modern smartphone, but the mere 97 grammes weights scores marks over its counterparts. A glance at the front of the handset and you will see the 3.2″ TFT screen dominates proceedings. This screen is clear and colours are well represented thanks to the resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and the massive 16 million colours it can display. An accelerometer chip is hidden behind the screen to facilitate auto rotate function when the phones viewing position is changed. The first impression of the phone is certainly that it gets top marks for its looks, the lines are sleek and the choice of colour options is going to appeal to a broader spectrum of consumers than if it was just released in a single finish.

Sony Ericsson phones have always had a tradition of falling into one of two camps, the Walkman music based phone or the Cybershot camera phones. Where the Vivaz excels is that it quite comfortably encompasses both of these key features. The camera on board this handset is a particularly impressive affair. Capable of capturing an image with over 8 million pixels, it is certainly a cut above the average snapper. Autofocus keeps images crisp and a good quality LED flash aid those pictures taken where lighting conditions are not ideal. Face and Smile detection helps keep these images as clear as possible. Despite these impressive features perhaps the standout one is the video capabilities of this handset. With High Definition being the word on everybody’s lips when it comes to TV’s, Sony have taken this a stage further and incorporated HD video recording on this phone. It can record video at a 720p resolution and at 24 frames per second with a continuous autofocus. And cashing in on the popularity of sites such as YouTube, videos shot on the Vivaz can be easily uploaded directly to such sites.

Having previously touched upon the phones compatibility with YouTube, its links with another website will perhaps win the Sony Ericsson Vivaz many fans. Facebook is featured in the handsets home screen, meaning instant updates and also the option to upload any of the photos you have taken instantly to the website.

Sony Ericsson have produced a very good handset with the Vivaz. Great functionality teamed with excellent looks means this handset is going to appeal to many people. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz and the Samsung S5550 Shark 2 are available now.
