Do you have to pay import tax in Ireland?
Earlier in the year, i was about to buy something online, when someone from ireland said he bought the same thing, costing over £1500 and didnt have to pay import tax – where as i would because i’m in england.
I’m now thinking of ordering a camera and sending it to a friend in Irelandd to bring over for me next month and would like to avoid the import tax upon delivery – he’s in Cork if that makes the slightest bit of difference?

Yes you do
They can sometimes be more laxed about it, but technically you should pay import duty and VAT
