Left-handed photogs: Was it difficult for you to learn photography on right-handed cameras?
As you’re aware, almost all cameras have the shutter release button on the right. Was it awkward and difficult for any of you lefties to learn how to use a camera, especially a D/SLR and manual focus? I’m a righty and find it very difficult to stabilize my camera and have to focus with my right hand. I think it would be tough for me to have to adjust to a left-handed configuration. What was your experience like? Just curious!
You get used to it…mostly.
If that’s all you have then you HAVE to get used to it.
It would be interesting to see how a left-handed DSLR would do in the market, 10% of the population is a southpaw – and the figure rises among creative types.
It wouldn’t be too difficult with todays computer design/manufacture and short production runs.
