The 5 Best Nikon Lenses
Nikon has been in the Camera business for a very long time and are considered one of the best in the business. The following lenses cover a variety of sizes and prices but they are some of the best lenses you can get.
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF you can find this lens for about $125 I picked it as one of the bests because it uses proven technologies and is inexpensive. However be aware that this lens will not work with the following cameras due to lake of Auto-focus on the cameras: D40, D40x, D60 and F3. Though the camera might not work on those cameras on the rest it works beautifully.
- Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor this lens can be purchased for $109.95 at Amazon. This lens is another great lens to have it’s especially nice for those who are just starting out in photography. This lens is a wide-angle lens and can focus very well. This is lens can be your only lens if your just a casual photographer.
- Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II this lens is for DX format Nikon cameras but it is an amazing lens. The price on Amazon ranges from $750-$899 depending on the vendor. This lens is basically the do-all lens you won’t need anything else unless you need more zoom, you won’t need any of the lenses already mentioned if you sprung for this one.
- Nikon 135mm f/2.0D AF DC-Nikkor Lens this lens is expensive but it’s the best portrait lens made by Nikon if that is your main use for photography this is the only lens you need. It features Defocus Control (DC) which lets you just focus on the subject and blur the background. This lens is on Amazon for $1,389.59.
- Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens is big and heavy and works with both DX and FX format cameras but really shines when used with an FX camera. This lens takes very sharp pictures even with it wide open the whole picture is sharp. Amazon has this lens for $1,819.86.
