Box Cameras

If you want something small and easy to conceal, what you need is a bullet camera. You can hide it behind potted plants, inside stuffed toys, or within book shelves. You can even use them outdoors because they’re designed with weather-proof casings. The advanced models even come with heater-supplemented lenses to defrost ice if they’ve been exposed to snow.
Dome Cameras
These are arguably the most sophisticated-looking security cameras available in the market. Their sleek appearance makes them a must-have for establishments wishing to implement the most stringent security measures without attracting too much attention. Similar to box cameras, they are more often used indoors but may also be used outdoors provided they come with weather-proof housing.
Types of Night Vision
Not all security cameras are capable of producing sharp and clear photos at night or other dark or dim-lit areas. Those that do, on the other hand, may use any of the three types of video recording techniques below.
Infrared
Infrared security cameras utilize light sources invisible to human eye, enabling them to capture images or videos even in the dark. The more infrared LED used, the greater distance these security cameras will be able to take photos from.
WDR
They balance white and black levels of photos until images and videos achieve well-defined proportions. Security cameras with WDR are costlier than most models.
Monochrome
Color security cameras will not naturally be able to take multi-colored images in the dark so they immediately switch to capturing images and videos in black and white.
Go Wired or Wireless?
Wired cameras are easier to install but their wired structure prevents them from being portable.
Wireless cameras on the other hand may be portable but they do require network configuration to set up. They are also more sensitive to external noise and have inferior image and audio recording capabilities. Due to their wireless structure, they are vulnerable to hacking and unauthorized access to your security system would naturally compromise the privacy and safety of your home or workplace.
