that high optical zoom digital camera should I buy? advantages and disadvantages please?
I'm looking for something at least 7 MP and 10x optical zoom. I would use it for landscapes, macro, and various art projects. I do not want pay over 660 USD (U.S. dollars), or 800 AUD i watched: Olympus SP 550, 510 Fujifilm FinePix S5700, S9600 Kodak EasyShare Z712 is, Z710, P712 Canon PowerShot TX1 Sony CZ DSCH5B, DSCH5 Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8, DMC-FZ50, DMC-TZ3 only brands available to me in Australia are Canon, Fuji, Kodak, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic (Lumix) Pentax, Ricoh, Sony and Vivitar. NB I also Kodak EasyShare software on my computer.
Fuji S9600. It starts wider than most camera your list (it starts at 28mm – most other cameras on your list starting with 35-38mm) so it is more useful for photographing landscapes and Fuji has a sensor for excellent picture of lower light. The main drawback is that it lacks image stabilization, which can be useful for minimize zoom lens to shake along. Or the Panasonic TZ3. It also begins wider (28mm) and does not go as long as the Fuji. The Fuji has a 28-300mm lens, while the Panasonic a 28-280mm lens. And it has image stabilization. But Panasonic is known to have a very "noisy" sensor – a lot of grain in your photos if shooting High ISO – not good in low light or indoors. And it has no viewfinder. You must use the LCD screen.
