RED LIGHT CAMERA NSW?
I live in sydney (NSW ROAD RULES APPLY), I went past a red light camera 4-5 days ago, I am 17 yrs old and currently on my RED P’S.
Now the camera was on the opposite side of the road, the side where the camera was has 3 lanes, and the side that I was on also has 3 lanes. I was in the furthest lane which means i was 5 lanes away from the CAMERA.
Okey, I was driving at about 30 km/h – 45 km/h in a 70 km/h ZONE when I went through the intersection only because of the busy traffic.
I never saw the flash (time of the day – 5:20 p.m. pretty hot but the sun was setting down).
1) Can the camera catch you (take a photo) front on?
2) If it did, what should I expect “FINE WISE” (demerits?,fine?)
3) How long would I have to wait before i can check my mail for any letters from the RTA/NSW Police?.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!
Firstly if you were only going 30 – 45 km/h in a 70km/h you wouldn’t have triggered the speed camera no matter which side of the road you were travelling.
1) Cameras have the ability to catch the front number plate but the majority are set up to take the rear number plate as you go past.
2) In regards to demerits/fine the best place to check for that information is at ww.rta.gov.au.
3) It takes usually 3 weeks from the time of infringement to receive a speeding fine in the mail.
Hope this helps.
