Looking for a recommendation on a beginners digital slr camera – i have an automatic digital but want to be?
able to add lens and do manual settings for my own preferences for shots. I’ve been looking and there’s so much out there. My price range would be approx $400
There are a couple of issues here. One prices are very likely to drop in the next couple of months – due to the “recession/depression”. When people stop spending – as is happening now, companies need to cut profits to keep stock moving. This is already happening is several areas – new cars etc., and will become more universal as the financial year draws to a close. They need to have cash flow to keep trading.
Another point is that contrary to another opinion here, it is often wisest to buy “body only”. The kit lenses are mediocre at best as is evidenced by the number of them advertised for sale – described as new. If you feel that you might develop an ongoing interest in photography it might be better to consider a body only purchase along with one quality lens. You will quickly become disappointed with the kit lenses as they are inferior in many cases to the better quality P&S camera with their F2.8 Leica zooms etc.
