Sony Cyber-Shot Wx1 Review – An Elegant Point-And-Shoot Digital Camera

Conclusion
My experience with the Sony Cyber-Shot WX1 was an alright one it was a little hard to use due to the confusing menu system and some of the settings. This camera is not like most cameras in some and I mean that in a sort of bad way for one it doesn’t have an optical viewfinder, which is on almost every single other camera in the same compact digital camera category. The viewfinder feature not being there isn’t a deal breaker on this camera but keep reading.

The other thing that wasn’t very user friendly on the Sony Cyber-Shot WX1 was the user interface. On most cameras the main functions are usually right there but on this Sony digital camera you have to fiddle to much just to adjust white balance, sensitivity and exposure compensation. This is more of an annoyance though if your under the clock to get photos this can be a big problem. Then lastly the WX1 is auto exposure only this really turns this to a casual photographers camera only. If you are just in need of a ultra-compact camera to get some photos of things like Graduations or family picnics this is a great camera, but if your in need of a more professional camera this is not for you.

Pros:

• Impressive noise management
• Excellent 5x zoom
• 720p movie mode

Cons:

• Slight tendency toward over-exposure
• No direct access to the most commonly changed/adjusted camera settings and functions
