traffic cameras newcastle
Did i get caught in a red light traffic camera?

hi, the other day i went through a red light by accident, seriously, the sun was in my eyes and it had just changed. However i didnt see a flash and if it did it would have taken a photo of the back of my car.

I’m hoping that the camera was pointing at the opposite lights because the camera is parallel to the lights which mean it couldn’t take a photo of my car crossing the line just my car in the middle of the crossing.

Somebody please tell me if you know if they take photos of the front or back of your car?

thanks, and by any chance that somebody knows the acctual camera am talking about its the one at the top of newcastle road in sunderland, uk, by the mill. i doubt that tho :D

UK is pretty far away from Colorado, so I don’t know it. But I have been busted before by a red light camera. They sent me the photos, and a link to a video of me online. There are more cameras than you think I bet. There was a picture of me from the back, the front, and a close up and it was definitely me! There was also a close up of the plate on the back.
You may not have seen the flash because of the sun. These cameras are programmed to take a picture of anyone who crosses the line while the light is red. It is then sent to somebody to review to see if you just went over the line a bit and stopped, or if you really went through the light. You will know in a few days.
In my case I was turning right. I went right through it after looking left (US drives on the right side of the road), and seeing that cross traffic was turning left, so there was no way any oncoming traffic was coming. I was going west and turning north, they were going south and turning east. I still got a ticket. In that case, there should have been a green right arrow, but instead I got the ticket.
