If your caught by a traffic camera for anything and you get the ticket in the mail, will points be put on?

I live in Jersey City, New Jersey and I was driving down a street and when I got to the intersection the person in front of me was making a left and I was right behind them. As he was moving more and more to the left as he was making his turn, I was moving forward little by little until he made his turn so I could go. Then the light turned yellow but I was in the intersection already so I just went and the light turned red as I passed it. And there was a traffic camera at that intersection. I didn’t run the red light completely. I know the camera is put there for people who run red lights and stuff and that I will most likely get a ticket in the mail but when the ticket comes in the mail do points go on your license? Or is it just a fine that you have to pay? Because the points is what I’m worried about.

My experience with a camera ticket is that the ticket is mailed to the address listed on the registration and addressed to the person whose name the vehicle is registered in. So, since there’s no way to prove who was actually driving the vehicle, the ticket is generally a fine only citation.

By the way, I live in NC
