We’re going out to live on Vancouver Island. What is the best camera and film for outdoor photography?
One that is water proof, or at least comes with a water-proof housing.
Aside from that, find something within your budget, that fits your hand, controls feel comfortable, etc…,
You’ll want a macro lens, for those closeups of flowers etc…, wide angle for those landscapes, a really good zoom to get them whales bobbing around, and possibly even a flash that will talk with your camera.
Best place to start is at a real world store, with a knowledgeable photographer, and get some hands on with camera bodys, lenses, etc…, and than do some internet searching, try www.dpreview.com, and go over some user reviews.
Canon and Nikon are kind of considered top of the line in consumer cameras, but Leica and a few others offer quality units too. These things should give you a good shot at figuring out whats best for you.
