MINI DV Deck or Get Another Video Camera?
I’ve been hunting around for a mini dv deck, but the price is nuts. I only want to use it to put video into my computer. I don’t really care to use my pro-sumer Panasonic for this purpose, but would rather find a cheap alternative.
My thoughts are to buy a cheap name brand mini dv camera for that purpose.
My question, will I see any degradation in quality if I it for this purpose? Are the playback heads pretty much the same, or is there a huge difference from one to another within the same brand?
It seems to me, in the past, I have read that video tape transports and heads are made by only a few manufacturers and quality from one to another is pretty much the same. Its the features and CCD (imaging capture) that makes the difference.
Any advice would be most helpful.

Hello.
MiniDV Player would be useless on it’s own but another hand another camera would be an asset as a backup camera and also double up as a player.
The resolution are more or less the same and not much degration in quality.
